Declared value decides your level

You pick a level by declared value: what the card will be worth after it's graded, not what you paid or what it sells for raw. A card that sells for $200 raw but $1,200 as a PSA 10 belongs in a level that covers $1,200.

PSA prices from October 2026, when its Value levels were unavailable. Higher Premium levels cover cards above $10,000.

If PSA finds the graded card is worth more than your level allows, it moves the card to the right level and bills the difference, called an upcharge. Declaring honestly also makes sure the card is insured for its real value while PSA has it.

Other costs to plan for

  • Shipping to PSA. Insured and tracked, in a box with the cards in semi-rigid holders.
  • Return shipping and insurance. PSA charges for return shipping based on the order.
  • Selling fees. If you sell the slab on eBay, about 13.25% of the sale plus a small per-order fee. See the eBay fees guide.

Plan a submission

The submission planner sorts each card into the cheapest level its value allows, totals the fees and shipping, and flags cards that lose money even at the grade you're hoping for. Run any card you're unsure about through the grading calculator first.
